The Brandeis Association Installation of Officers & Board Directors

The Brandeis Association Installation Ceremonies of Officers and Board of Directors will take place on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 6:00 P.M. at Temple Torah of Little Neck, Queens, New York.  The Association will honor retired Judge of the New York State Court of Claims Honorable Jeffrey D. Lebowitz.  Judge Lebowitz is a Past Brandeis President and Chairman of the Board.  He is currently Of Counsel to the firm, Jaspan Schlesinger LLP in the Matrimonial and Family Law as well as the Litigation Practice Group.

The Brandeis Association was established in 1969 as a Not for Profit Corporation. The stated purpose of the Bar association, as set forth in both the Brandeis Constitution and Articles of Incorporation, is to encourage friendship and culture among our members, to foster respect for law and legal institutions and to vigorously assert its interest in justice and fair play in the County of Queens and in the City and State of New York. All members of the Judiciary, Lawyers, Court personnel and others who support the Jewish faith and the U.S. Constitution are eligible for membership.
The Brandeis Association is active year round, planning and executing a wide array of programs and events tailored to promote legal, cultural and social enrichment between its members, and for the community at large. Members participate in and enjoy numerous programs such as the Law Sabbath, the Yom Hashoa Program commemorating the Holocaust, a scholarship breakfast which raises money for eligible law students, dinners featuring interesting and stimulating speakers throughout the year as well as Continuing Legal Education courses on timely and relevant topics.  The Organization has proudly hosted a number of judges and dignitaries at its events, including former Chief Judge Judith Kaye and current Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals, Honorable Jonathan Lippman.  They had the honor and priviledge of meeting U.S. Supreme Court Justice, Honorable Ruth Bader Ginsburg, at their U.S. Supreme Court Swearing-in event in Washington D.C. in May of 2009.
