Jaspan Schlesinger LLP announced today that its managing partner Steven Schlesinger has been reappointed by the Appellate Division, Second Department for a new four year term as a member of the Character and Fitness Committee for the Second, Tenth, Eleventh, and Thirteenth Judicial Districts.
Under New York law, before admitting a person to the bar of the State of New York, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court must be satisfied that such person “possesses the character and general fitness requisite for an attorney and counsellor-at-law.” The Committee members investigate the character and fitness of every applicant for admission to practice.
Mr. Schlesinger has been a member of the Committee since 1996.
