On October 23, 2012, Maureen Liccione, a partner in the Firm’s Municipal and Litigation Practice Groups, addressed students in a panel discussion at her alma mater, St. John’s University School of Law. Among six panelists, she discussed her law background, career and the path that led her to the position she holds today.
Ms. Liccione currently serves as special counsel to municipalities throughout Long Island. She represents private clients in land use, environmental and litigation matters, and has argued landmark cases in New York Appellate Courts, including the Court of Appeals.
The majority of the seminar focused on the practice area of law and religion. Ms. Liccione shared her experiences working with Long Island-based clients and the issues that arise in land use and municipal law context.

Rated the highest Martindale-Hubbell peer rating for lawyers, Ms. Liccione is a former director of the Suffolk County Bar Association and Suffolk Academy of Law. She is a former Chair of the Suffolk Bar Association Municipal Law Committee, and member of the New York State and Nassau County Bar Associations.
She has twice been selected by Long Island Business News as one of LI’s 50 Most Influential Women. Ms. Liccione graduated magna cum laude from Siena College in 1975 and St. John’s University School of Law in 1981.
