Jothy Narendran Elected President of Board of Directors of Spectrum Designs Foundation

Jaspan Schlesinger LLP announced today that Jothy Narendran, a Partner in the firm’s Banking and Financial Services Practice Group, has been elected President of Spectrum Designs Foundation, a not-for-profit 501(c)3 apparel design and customization organization dedicated to providing gainful employment and meaningful work opportunities for individuals with autism.

Established in 2011, Spectrum Designs Foundation provides teens and young adults with autism employment opportunities and training to help them lead fuller, independent and productive lives.  A full-service apparel customization shop, Spectrum Designs Foundation offers a full range of state-of-the-art apparel customization services, including direct-to-garment (DTG), screen printing and embroidery.  The foundation currently employs 25 full and part-time adult staff over the age of 21, 75% of whom have been diagnosed with autism or a related condition.  Additionally, 28 school-aged individuals with autism currently participate in a training program with the goal of creating employment opportunities upon completion of the program.

Ms. Narendran represents institutional lenders in financing commercial properties in a wide variety of transactions including acquisition loans, construction loans, note purchases and sales, equipment financing, leasehold financing and multi-lender participation/syndicated financing.  She is also a Board Member of the Board of Review for the New York State Board of Review of the Building Code for the Southern Region, as well as a Board Member for the Real Estate Institute at Stony Brook University College of Business.
