Jaspan Schlesinger Partner Lisa Cairo Honored as One of Long Island’s 40 Under 40

Lisa Cairo of Garden City, a partner in the Municipal Law practice group of Jaspan Schlesinger LLP, was recently honored by Long Island Business News as one of 40 Long Island leaders under the age of 40. As a member of LIBN’s “40 Under 40” Class of 2012, Ms. Cairo has distinguished herself as a professional leader, mentor and community servant.

Ms. Cairo represents private clients in both residential and commercial zoning matters in various municipalities, including the Town of Hempstead, Town of North Hempstead, Village of Lynbrook, Village of Muttontown, Village of Hempstead and Village of Westbury. She also represents both private and municipal clients in litigation matters in both state and federal court.

Ms. Cairo earned her Juris Doctor from Hofstra University School of Law in 2002.  After completing law school, she served as a Law Clerk in the Supreme Court of Nassau County, where she participated as a Program Coordinator for the Law Student Summer Internship Program. She also worked at a Nassau County law firm, focusing on land use and zoning, real estate and matrimonial matters.

Cairo is a Co-Chairperson of the Pat Cairo Family Foundation, Inc., an organization dedicated to raising funds for cancer research and treatment. She is also a Member of the Board of Directors of the Catholic Lawyers Guild of Nassau County and serves as counsel to the Board of Appeals for the Incorporated Village of Valley Stream.  Ms. Cairo has also served as a Delegate to the Republican Judicial Convention for the 10th Judicial District and is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association.
