Jaspan Schlesinger LLP announced today that Hon. Anthony J. Falanga, former Justice of the New York State Supreme Court and a partner in the Firm’s Matrimonial and Family Law Practice Group, has been awarded the 2017 Thomas Maligno Pro Bono Attorney of the Year. This prestigious award is presented annually by the Nassau County Bar Association to an attorney for their commitment to pro bono services.
Justice Falanga said that “after serving 17 years on the bench, it is truly gratifying to be able to provide pro bono services to matrimonial clients and to have the opportunity to help people in need, particularly those who are victims of domestic violence.” He continued, “to see each client’s appreciation and gratitude is rewarding in itself.” Through his dedication and contributions to the legal profession, he hopes that his colleagues find time to dedicate pro bono services to others.
