Matthew L. Zafrin concentrates his banking and financial services practice on the representation of institutional lenders in the financing of residential, commercial and mixed-use properties. He has experience with performing title review, organizational due diligence, review of commercial leases and purchase and sale agreements. Matt is also experienced in the negotiation of transactional documents, including loan documents with borrowers, intercreditor agreements with lenders and subordination, nondisturbance and attornment agreements with tenants.
While attending law school, Matt worked as a loss mitigation specialist at a creditor rights law firm, which represented mortgage lenders in chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcies. In this role, he served as the liaison between lenders and debtors in court ordered loss mitigation, which included reviewing borrowers for loan modifications, short sales, and deed for lease programs.
