Hanna E. Kirkpatrick’s areas of concentration include litigation, appellate practice and matrimonial and family law. In the matrimonial context, Hanna represents clients in proceedings concerning equitable distribution of real property and other assets, spousal maintenance and child support, as well as custody disputes.

Hanna also represents clients in other types of civil litigation including individuals and businesses in cases involving contractual and partnership disputes. Her experience includes all phases of litigation, including pretrial discovery, substantive motion practice, and trial. Hanna has also successfully briefed and argued appeals before the appellate division, second department.

Experience

  • Fishler v. Fishler, 154 A.D.3d 917 (2d Dep’t 2017): Successfully obtained reversal on appeal of trial court order imposing execution against 65% of father’s income, resulting in execution being decreased to 40% to enable father to pay his necessary expenses.
  • Matter of MRI Enters, Inc. v. Hausknecht, 142 A.D.3d 1078 (2d Dep’t 2016): Successfully defended appeal of order dismissing petitioner's cause of action for a turnover proceeding pursuant to CPLR 5225(b).
